ABOUT
OUR PRINCIPALS
Kenneth J. Paradis
As
a former Assistant Attorney General defending the Massachusetts Workers’
Compensation Trust Fund and Chief of Staff of the Massachusetts Department
of Labor, Ken brings an insider’s knowledge to the nation’s
second injury funds and workers’ compensation law. As a conference
speaker and appellate advocate, Ken blends business orientation with legal
expertise to provide valuable solutions to ARC’s clients. He earned
a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado College in Classics, History and
Political Theory in 1990. Ken earned his law degree from the University
of Notre Dame in 1994 and is a member of the Massachusetts and District
of Columbia bars. He was also awarded the Harry S. Truman U.S. Congressional
scholarship.
Michael
K. Crowe
With
more than ten years of experience in the insurance industry, Michael is
a highly respected entrepreneur and consultant to some of the industry’s
best-known companies. Michael graduated from Merrimack College in 1992,
earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Michael earned
his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1995 and is a member
of the Massachusetts and California Bars. Michael sits on the Board of
Directors of the “Believe in Me” Foundation, a charitable
organization providing dentistry for urban youths. Michael is also a member
of the American-Ireland Fund.
Brett
A. Albren
With
more than eight years of experience in the long-term disability insurance
industry, Brett is an experienced attorney and consultant to many of the
top ten disability insurance carriers. Brett’s intricate knowledge
of the Social Security Disability process has made him a well-respected
industry consultant. Brett graduated from Trinity College in 1994, earning
a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Brett earned his law degree
from Suffolk University Law School in 1997 and is a member of the Massachusetts
Bar. Brett is also a member of the National Organization of Social Security
Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR).
Thomas W. Gleason
As Executive Consultant Tom offers more than 30 years of workers’ compensation experience to ARC. Tom has had a diversified career in positions such as President/CEO of Risk Recovery and Comp/Med Advantage, Executive Director of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board, and Senior Vice President of a prominent regional TPA. Other states and jurisdictions frequently call upon Tom as a consultant, and he has served as an advisor to two temporary State Commissions on Workers’ Compensation. He was appointed by New York Governor Pataki to serve on the task force for Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Insurance. Tom also served as a consultant on the 1996 workers’ compensation fraud study conducted by the New York State Insurance Department for presentation to the legislature. He has received numerous honors such as the Governor’s Award from Governor Buddy Roemer of Louisiana, the Outstanding Service Award by the New York State Workers’ Compensation Bar Association, the Excellence in Service Award by the Flanders Group of Companies, and the Excellence in Service Award by the Chair of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. Tom is affiliated with the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC), the Workers’ Compensation College, the International Workers’ Compensation Foundation, the American Society of Workers’ Compensation Professionals, the New York Claims Association, the New York Self-Insurers Association, the New York State A.F.L. - C.I.O. Workers’ Compensation Advisory Committee, and was formerly a Board Member of Executive Insurance Company. Tom is a graduate of Saint Leo College and the Harvard University Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government. A veteran of the United States Army, Tom is a member of the American Legion, and serves as a Board Member of the Catholic Youth Organization. Tom is a Board Member of the Knights of St. Patrick and a lifetime member of the Friendly Son’s of St. Patrick and the New York Athletic Club.
Scott R. Mochrie
A former Claims Executive and Director of Cost Recovery for the New York State Insurance Fund, Scott presents more than 10 years of workers’ compensation insurance experience and expertise in New York’s second injury fund to ARC. With an intricate knowledge of the workers’ compensation environment in New York State and previous exposure to the New York legislative process, Scott is a leader in the workers’ compensation industry. Scott graduated from Siena College in 1993 earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus accounting. He is also designated a Workers’ Compensation Certified Professional by the American Society of Workers’ Compensation Professionals, Inc.
